Discover Arxan

Arxan offers one of northern China’s most beautiful forest and volcanic landscape experiences, combining hot springs, lava landforms, lakes, grasslands, birch forests, wetlands, and a quiet borderland atmosphere. Located in Inner Mongolia near the Greater Khingan Range, Arxan is especially known for its national forest park, volcanic lakes, autumn colors, and clean mountain air.

A visit can include exploring Arxan National Forest Park, seeing volcanic lakes such as Tianchi, walking through forests and wetlands, enjoying hot springs, photographing autumn birch forests, and experiencing the transition between grassland and mountain scenery. The best time to visit is June to September for green landscapes and outdoor travel, or September to early October for autumn colors. Arxan also works well with Hulunbuir, Hailar, Manzhouli, Xilingol, and wider Inner Mongolia routes.
