Discover Guyuan

Guyuan offers a lesser-known northwest China travel experience, combining ancient frontier history, mountain scenery, Hui culture, local food, ruins, temples, and access to the Liupan Mountain region. Located in southern Ningxia, it is quieter than Yinchuan and gives travelers a more local view of inland northwest China.

A visit can include exploring historical sites, visiting mountain areas, trying regional food, walking through local markets, and using the city as a base for nearby cultural and natural landscapes. The best time to visit is May to October, when the weather is more suitable for outdoor sightseeing and regional road trips. Guyuan works well with Yinchuan, Zhongwei, Liupan Mountain, Pingliang, Lanzhou, and wider Ningxia and Gansu routes.
