Discover Kunming

Kunming offers a relaxed highland city experience, combining mild weather, flowers, lakes, parks, ethnic culture, food, old streets, cafés, and access to some of Yunnan’s best travel routes. Known as the Spring City, it is often used as a comfortable entry point into Yunnan.

A visit can include Green Lake, local markets, Yunnan food, flower markets, old neighborhoods, temples, nearby Stone Forest, and slower city walks. The best time to visit is March to May or September to November, though Kunming is comfortable for much of the year. Kunming works well as a base for Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Xishuangbanna, Yuanyang, Jianshui, and other Yunnan destinations.
