Discover Chengdu

Chengdu offers one of China’s most relaxed and flavorful city experiences, combining pandas, teahouses, Sichuan food, parks, temples, local neighborhoods, nightlife, creative districts, and a slower rhythm than many of China’s largest cities. As the capital of Sichuan, it is especially known for food culture, casual street life, and a welcoming urban atmosphere.

A visit can include seeing pandas, drinking tea in local parks, trying hotpot and Sichuan snacks, walking through Kuanzhai Alley or Jinli, visiting Wuhou Shrine, exploring cafés and creative areas, and enjoying Chengdu’s relaxed evening life. The best time to visit is March to June or September to November, when the weather is more comfortable. Chengdu also works well as a base for Leshan, Mount Emei, Jiuzhaigou, Dujiangyan, Qingcheng Mountain, Chongqing, and western Sichuan.
