Discover Hailuogou Glacier

Hailuogou Glacier offers one of Sichuan’s most dramatic mountain and glacier travel experiences, combining icefalls, hot springs, forest trails, snow mountain views, red rock valleys, and the highland scenery of the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Located near Mount Gongga, it is especially known for the contrast between glaciers, forests, and hot spring resorts.

A visit can include viewing glacier landscapes, walking through forested areas, soaking in hot springs, photographing snow peaks, and exploring nearby Tibetan towns and valleys. The best time to visit is April to June or September to November, when mountain views and travel conditions are generally better. Hailuogou works well with Kangding, Luding, Mount Gongga viewpoints, western Sichuan routes, Chengdu, and Danba.
