Discover Dujiangyan City

Dujiangyan City offers one of Sichuan’s best combinations of ancient engineering, mountain scenery, local food, temples, old-town streets, and easy access from Chengdu. It is best known for the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an ancient water-management project that still shapes the region, and for nearby Qingcheng Mountain’s Daoist atmosphere.

A visit can include exploring the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, walking through old streets, visiting riverside viewpoints, trying local Sichuan food, seeing pandas nearby, and combining the trip with Qingcheng Mountain. The best time to visit is March to June or September to November, when the weather is comfortable for walking and mountain travel.
