Discover Linxia

Linxia offers a distinctive northwest China cultural travel experience, combining Islamic architecture, Hui and Dongxiang culture, markets, mosques, local food, river valleys, and access to the Tibetan highlands of Gannan. Located in Gansu, it has long been an important regional meeting point between different cultures, trade routes, and religious traditions.

A visit can include exploring local markets, trying northwest Muslim food, seeing mosques and cultural streets, walking through old neighborhoods, and using Linxia as a gateway toward Xiahe and Labrang Monastery. The best time to visit is May to October, when the weather is more comfortable for city walks and onward highland travel. Linxia works well with Lanzhou, Xiahe, Labrang Monastery, Gannan, Qinghai, and wider northwest routes.
