Discover Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie offers one of China’s most spectacular mountain landscape experiences, combining sandstone pillars, forest parks, glass bridges, cable cars, cliffside walkways, misty peaks, and dramatic scenery that feels almost unreal. Located in Hunan, it is best known for the towering pillar landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

A visit can include Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain, Golden Whip Stream, Tianmen Mountain, glass bridge areas, cable car routes, and viewpoints over forested peaks. The best time to visit is April to June or September to November, when the weather is more comfortable and scenery is often clearer. Zhangjiajie works well with Furong Ancient Town, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Changsha, Dehang, and wider western Hunan routes.
