Leshan offers a strong Sichuan cultural and spiritual travel experience, combining the Giant Buddha, river scenery, temples, local food, and access to Mount Emei. Located where several rivers meet, the city is best known for the Leshan Giant Buddha, one of China’s most impressive Buddhist heritage sites.

A visit can include seeing the Giant Buddha by foot or boat, exploring temple areas, walking riverside routes, trying Leshan snacks, and combining the visit with Mount Emei. The best time to visit is March to June or September to November, when the weather is more comfortable for walking.
