Discover Mount Emei

Mount Emei offers one of China’s most important sacred mountain travel experiences, combining Buddhist temples, forest trails, misty peaks, sunrise views, monkeys, monasteries, and access to the Golden Summit. Located in Sichuan, it is one of China’s Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains and pairs naturally with nearby Leshan.

A visit can include hiking sections of the mountain, visiting temples, taking cable cars toward the summit, watching sunrise or cloud seas, experiencing monastery stays, and combining the trip with the Leshan Giant Buddha. The best time to visit is April to June or September to November, when hiking conditions are more comfortable. Mount Emei works well with Chengdu, Leshan, Jiuzhaigou, Chongqing, and other Sichuan routes.
